Forest Kindergarten

In our Kindergarten program, we strive to foster not only the love of the outdoors, but also a lifelong love of learning.

About the Forest Kindergarten Program

Play is the work of children

As our children get to kindergarten age we remain connected to this knowledge more than ever. Equipped with fundamentals of Reggio Emilia philosophy, Swedish curriculum and place based education and grounded in our school’s foundational pillars, we continue to support our children in their growing and learning.

Kindergarten is a time for many transitions. We see our children ready to take on the world with a slightly new step. Using the outdoors as the extension of the classroom, the children are provided with multiple opportunities to connect with their developing mind, body and spirit.

We support each child in their individual learning journey

SSJC strives to foster not only the love of the outdoors, but also a lifelong love of learning. As our children come to an age of developing interests in literacy, numeracy and others, we support each child in their individual learning journey, building bridges of collaboration and scaffolding of interdisciplinary knowledge.
